first full day report
Went back for a full day exploring today.
Really wanted to stop the WC flush from leaking but despite spending hours re-aligning pan it just wouldn’t stay water tight. Frustratingly I’ll need to get a plumber in. TBH there is plenty of other stuff the can checkout too. I can’t find the main water supply stopcock or the meter. The layout is confusing. I did find a leaking splitter valve (I assume)
I think we need a full kitchen re-fit. Carcasses are bodged too much and the doors are all delaminating. The built in deep fat fryer still amuses.
The light switches are all over the place and have no understandable logic. The kitchen has 4 separate strings of down lights with switches spread about the room, but they don’t operate the lights closest to each switch. Some switches don’t do anything. Many wall lights are powered via wall plugs. Almost every lamp has a different colour or type of bulb in it.
D brought the doggos over and we had our first meal there.
She cleaned and emptied the kitchen cupboards.
Later I shut the bathroom door and found the handle wasn’t connected to the latch So had to force it open. Couldn’t leave it like that because it would be very easy to lock yourself in the bathroom. Removing the handles and lock was a nightmare involving a Dremel and many cutting disks. So I’ll have to fit a new handle and rebuild the door jam at some stage.
Also remembered to take some photos of the trees as they have protection orders on them and I don’t want to get done for things already removed before we bought the property.
So not a very productive day apart from adding to the list of things we need to sort.
