Reading & Clearing DTC & Resetting CEL (Nissan Elgrand e51)

27/10/1012
Today I found this over on 350z-uk and it works on our cars too … I just tried it … BUT my CEL came back on after 3 seconds

Clearing the CEL
Manual Method
Here is a quick way to reset your ECU. It is also known to clear codes thrown, and turn off the “Service Engine Soon” Light.
Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” and wait 3 seconds.
Repeat the following two procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds:
Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD).
Fully release the accelerator pedal.
Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking.
Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking)
Wait about 10 seconds.
Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.
Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink).
Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone.

Reading a DTC / Fault Code
Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
**at this point you need to count the CEL light flashes, think it starts by flashes 10 times slowly to indicate it is beginning then faster for the code. For example if it flashes 10 times slowly, 3 times fast, 2 times fast, 5 times fast 10 times slow then the code would be 325, then just match to the code list.
Then if you want to clear the code:
Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking)
Wait about 10 seconds.
Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.
Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink).
Turn ignition switch to OFF position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone.

IT WORKED!!
It took about 15 attempts to get the CEL flashing (a good reason the get a proper JODB Scanner) but I did get the CEL Flashing eventually 8)
For me it was flashing 10 times slowly (ignore that it just indicates the beginning of the cycle) then 3 fast small pause then 5 fast then pause then 10 fast then back to the beginning with 10 slow flashes.
So that is P0350 Ignition Signal … exactly what I expected from the crappy after market (cheap) coil packs.
